Christmas Tree Felt Board Poems – A Video

Christmas Tree Poems.jpg

**The Letter of the Week Program is on ‘pause’ for the holidays.  We will continue with letter ‘N’ on Monday, January 6th, 2014.

I’m guessing that you have a home daycare full of excited children these days! Here is a short video with a quick idea for circle time this week. There are two easy felt board poems that your daycare children will enjoy learning.  You can cut out some felt trees and recite the poem using your felt board or you could easier add some actions and perform them as a group action poem.

5 Little Christmas Trees

5 little Christmas trees standing all alone,

Their hearts were very sad because they hadn’t found a home.

Then chop went the ax and down fell a tree,

And off it went with a happy family!

4 little Christmas trees standing all alone,

Their hearts were very sad because they hadn’t found a home.

Then chop went the ax and down fell a tree,

And off it went with a happy family!

3 little Christmas trees standing …….etc. until……

No little Christmas trees standing all alone,

Their hearts were very happy because they had all found a home!

Finding the Perfect Tree

We went out looking for a Christmas tree.

We went to see what we could see.

The first tree we found was much too small.

The second tree we found was much too tall.

The third tree we found was much too skinny.

The fourth tree we found was much too fat.

The fifth tree we found looked just right.

So we chopped it down with all our might.

We took our tree home and set it up straight.

Everyone thought that it looked just great.

Then we all joined hands and circled around, the beautiful tree that we had found.
