Video Tour of Downstairs Playroom

Take a look at my downstairs playroom video tour for some ideas on how to set up your own home daycare.  This video includes some toy organizational tips and a quiet area where my younger children nap.  I hope you find it helpful.

    Hi Jana
Where do you store all your extra toys, if you rotate your toys? How often do you bring them out and rotate? do you keep the toddler and preschooler toys all together? thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I continue to love your site and all that you offer to help us dayhome providers!
    Thanks!

Tamia, you have the best questions, I’m going to write a blog post about the beauty of toy rotation. It works like magic once you get your system down. For now, here’s the short answer. I store my extra toys in a back room in my basement. I have limited space, so I have floor to ceiing utility shelving units. I rotate them every two weeks and I rotate in batches. (Not all the toys get rotated at the same time). Yes, the toys are grouped into categories in labelled boxes. I’ll take some pictures of my crazy toy storage shelves and write a post for next week. Stay tuned!
